My Year as a Poet by The Crafty Scribe

This is an experiment to write a poem or a short verse a day, and post it to this blog.

I'm not a trained poet, just an enthusiastic scribe wanting to create something new each day. I don't truly know my stanza from my meter, but I hope to improve and get my poetic license someday! Expect the weird, the strange and the inner workings of the Crafty Scribe's mind.

Please pass on the blog address to all your verse and lyrical loving friends. I hope you will join me, and read my daily scribbling.

"Toast the Host - The Wry Stephen Fry" (Entry 101)

Why, oh why, oh why,
Can’t I speak like Stephen Fry?
Eloquent, droll and urbane,
Effortlessly able to entertain.
Fluent in knowledge and repartee.
Proficient in badinage - the consummate emcee.
Quips aplenty ready to supply,
The perfect host for QI.

"Inhabit the Impossible" (Entry 93)

Take me to another place,
A world beyond my own space.
Eons to love and live and fly.
I’ll travel to Riva upon Greldik’s ship,
Stand in The Citadel, before I slip,
Across time and cosmos in a small blue box,
A place of multi-dimensional shocks.
Until I reach a desert tomb,
To assist in The Mummy’s exhume.
Tour The Sandman’s world of things unseen.
Be taught the magicks by Constantine.
Indy’s the prof’ who’s most able,
To separate fact from fable.
Have adventures with Stephen Brown.
Grab a bite - maybe a stake - in a Vampire’s Town.
Take a Trek across the stars.
Sci-fi and fantasy are best by far.
Scenes of amazing creation.
Escape into your imagination.
