My Year as a Poet by The Crafty Scribe

This is an experiment to write a poem or a short verse a day, and post it to this blog.

I'm not a trained poet, just an enthusiastic scribe wanting to create something new each day. I don't truly know my stanza from my meter, but I hope to improve and get my poetic license someday! Expect the weird, the strange and the inner workings of the Crafty Scribe's mind.

Please pass on the blog address to all your verse and lyrical loving friends. I hope you will join me, and read my daily scribbling.

"Real Heroes" (Entry 336)

Where have all the heroes gone?
Was there ever a team of cape?
Are they fantasy? A childhood dream?
A figment for escape?
I see the heroes, lads and lassies,
They really do exist.
They’re in fatigues, scrubs and uniforms,
I think you know the list.
You’ll find them in the hospitals,
And on the field of battle.
You’ll find them on the streets of Britain,
Any emergency they tackle.
So don’t forget the real heroes,
Whatever job they do.
Look beyond the films and comic books.
They’re always there for you.
